The Morning of Magicians (ENG)

The Morning of the Magicians is a monumental painting, 32 feet x 26 feet, realized on the wall of the entrance building of the Hospital Charles Richet in Villiers-le-Bel/Val d’Oise (part of the AP-HP hospitals network in Paris and in the Ile-de-France region).
The Morning of the Magicians was created by Carlito Dalceggio, a great muralist painter from Canada, in residence in Paris and Villiers-le-Bel from March to May 2011.

The main topic of the art work deals with the ethical values and the humanitarian basis that are part of the public hospital guidance and soul. A place for care, the hospital Charles Richet specialized in elder people, wouldn’t achieve its goal if it wouldn’t follow these values, if it wasn’t a place for life, for social, cultural and geographical diversity.

Related to the theme of mankind, the artist will illustrate the qualities and the values that seem to be essential to him to be a Human being, such as generosity, solidarity, social link. All these values gather people within their diversity, by magnifying the universal dimension of living together while going through a care process.
Beside the creation of a mural painting, Carlito Dalceggio will lead mediation activities with a group of elder residents.

This artistic project will contribute to make the environment more esthetic, more harmonious and to create a space for freedom. The art work will open a path to dream and relieve anxiety and pain, as for the artist.
